For one of its AsiaPac operations, our client is interested in recruiting a senior industrial engineering professional from the electronics manufacturing industry as:

Responsibilities

As overall head of Industrial Engineering for a mega size electronics manufacturing facility, the selected candidate will be responsible to provide leadership to IE team and work closely with cross functional teams to achieve multiple site level objectives. The facility carries out PCB assembly and Box Build operations for high end telecom and other complex products. He/She will lead a team that will:

• design and manage plant layout to determine optimum space utilization, efficiency and safety standards
• work closely with regional and site level Lean Manufacturing teams
• design sequences of operation, processes and work flow to maximize utilization of production facilities, equipment, manpower and time
• conduct time and motion studies, evaluate alternatives and ensure ergonomic efficiencies.
• develop and maintain production documentation.
• measure engineering standards across all product lines to ensure consistency in approach
• analyze and eliminate non-value added processes/activities.
• work closely with manufacturing teams to achieve maximum yield efficiency through continuous improvement in processes, layout and work flows.
• manage product/process/line layout optimization across various work cells
• coordinate and support all pre-production activities for NPI projects
• ensure proper capacity planning – short/long term – in accordance with business needs
• ensure Machine/Line Balancing for all work cells; support HSE initiatives
• work with cross functional teams to implement value engineering, lean manufacturing, 6-sigma, and cost down initiatives

Requirements

• Candidates should preferably be electronics/electrical engineers from premier institutes and must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering function in leading electronics manufacturing companies.
• Exposure to working in US multinationals – either OEMs or EMS providers – would be preferred.Strong exposure to complex PCB Assembly and Box Build operations, preferably in telecom equipment sector essential
• Proven leadership and man-management skills; ability to adapt to rapid changes; strong business focus; an innovative, solution-oriented approach; and excellent communication and presentation skills.
