Global Account Manager

The Client

Our client is a leading global manufacturer-distributor of electronic components, fiber optic products and cable assemblies. It operates from about 40 manufacturing facilities and sales offices in Asia, Europe and Americas. It provides global support to leading producers of computers, telecommunications systems and networking devices. To strengthen its account management team in Asia, it plans to bring on board a senior professional from the electronic components industry to join the team as :

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the coordination of global marketing, business development and sales activities (and the profit and loss) for specified customers. He/She will represent all Business Units; will report to a Global Director for Account Management; be the primary interface to the customer Senior Management and Global Commodity teams; lead the virtual internal Account Team; and be responsible for driving and maintaining the global business and relationship development.

He/She will take the lead role to coordinate and finalize Global Customer; will coordinate within the company for responses to RFQs; and participate in global negotiations with the specified customers. Other responsibilities include ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and communication flow; regular reporting; handling serious escalations related to pricing, delivery, payment, liabilities etc.; monitoring the introduction of new projects; and identifying opportunities for improvement in the business processes.

The position can be based in Singapore, Hong Kong or Shanghai and requires extensive travel across multiple time zones.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering from a reputed institute. An MBA or a specialization in Supply Chain Management will be preferred.
  • At least 10 years' experience in strategic Account Management, Sales & Marketing, Commodity Management or Materials/Supply Base Management, preferably in Electronic Components sector, especially connectors, cords or cable assemblies.
  • Experience in managing global accounts of Tier-1 EMS corporations
  • Strong team player with a natural flair for working with multi-ethnic, multi-cultural global teams - both internal as well as external.
  • High level of account management and customer interface skills. In-depth understanding of business drivers and strategy of large EMS corporations
  • Extremely strong communication and presentation skills
  • Extremely strong People Management skills - across all levels
  • Client relationship management and business development skills.
  • Skills in motivating and leading people in a matrix structure
