Operations Manager (Ship Repair)

The Client

Our client is a global MNC that provides specialized repair, maintenance and reconditioning services of vessels and offshore installations. With a worldwide network of 17 offices and service centers and more than a thousand technical, engineering and business professionals, the company regularly services about 1000 clients worldwide.

Due to rapid expansion of its China operations, our client is looking for a highly experienced professional to join the team as :

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Overall responsibility for Operations of Ship Repair and Workshop departments.
• Improving operational efficiency through effective control of resources
• Cost control and monitoring
• Minimizing claims, reworks and customer complaints
• Project management across multiple sites
• Managing customer relations
• Ensuring adherence to all quality systems and requirements
• Ensuring development and implementation of Safety systems and standards
• Training and development of operations personnel
• Support Sales & Marketing in business development

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Marine/Offshore/Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience of which at least 5 years in a operational leadership position
• Experience in managing shipyard/drydocks as Ship Repair Manager, Project Manager or Workshop Manager.
• Exposure to various areas of shiprepair/ship-building work including mechanical, steel and structural works.
• Strong leadership, communication and project management skills
• Proven ability in operations control, people management and training & development.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin
