Our client is a large engineering group with very strong design, development, manufacturing and integration abilities for advanced electronics systems. It applies leading edge technologies and design methodologies to meet the stringent requirements of electronics systems and solutions of global customers. For one of its divisions, our client is interested in recruiting :

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement function for a new product line, including:

• Vendor Development (Identification, Qualification and Approval)
• Price/Delivery/Contract Negotiation
• Vendor Management (Relationship, Contracts, Appraisal and Qualification)
• Supplier Quality
• Delivery and Logistics
• Technical Support and Transfer of Technology

He/She will manage the varied procurement requirements across different phases of product life cycle for the product line and its variants. Close interaction with Product Engineering, New Product Introduction, Production, Materials and Projects teams will be required.

Requirements:

Ideal candidates will be experienced techno-commercial procurement professionals with multi-product exposure in telecom/related products. They will ideally have :

• A Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering, preferably EE, Mechanical or Telecommunications from reputed institutions
• Preferably, a post graduate degree/diploma in business management, supply chain management, logistics or materials management
• Exposure to Electronics/electromechanical Products/Integrated Solutions, preferably telecom products
• At least 8 years of total work experience, of which 3 should be in a similar role
• Strong local supplier contacts - components/mechanical/module/sub-assembly/integration levels
• Exposure to local sourcing in SE Asia, Middle East, South Asia and Central Asia would be advantageous
• Exposure to Quality and Materials Management functions preferred
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, especially for Design Sourcing as well as for Low Volume High Mix businesses
• Entrepreneurial skills, maturity, quick thinking and quick learning abilities, high level of energy and resourcefulness, ability to travel frequently and to work with multi-ethnic teams
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Strong multi-tasking, coordination and project management abilities
• Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of Asian languages would be advantageous.
