Product Development Manager (Telecom Products)

The Client:

Our client is a large engineering group that offers specialized electronics and telecommunications systems for both commercial enterprises and institutional customers. It specializes in design, development and integration of advanced electronics systems and applies leading edge technologies and design methodologies to meet the stringent requirements of electronics systems and solutions. It invests heavily in product development to help create cost-effective proprietary products at system and component levels that offer innovative, customized solutions to its customers. For one of its telecommunications product lines, our client is interested in recruiting :

Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for overall leadership - at project/program level - over the full product development lifecycle for specific product lines, including project planning, management and delivery. Interfacing with in-house and external design teams, clients and external vendors, he/she will coordinate multiple projects and sub-projects to ensure quality as well as schedule of deliverables.
As a key technical resource, he/she will motivate and mentor the team members, guide them on design methodologies, and troubleshoot technical issues. He/she will monitor and keep the management and team members apprised of new technologies and trends that can impact the product line and its markets.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be experienced (at least 10-12 yrs of relevant experience) technical leaders with strong product development background.
• A graduate/post graduate degree in Engineering in EE or Telecommunications from a premier institute.
• Strong experience in Project/Program Management during different phases of full product development lifecycle covering Architecture, Design, Development, Acceptance and Release to manufacturing.
• Broad exposure to product design. Prior experience in telecom product development including Electrical/ Mechanical/RF/Firmware design preferred.
• Exposure to satellite communications, microwave, terrestrial communication systems, asset tracking systems, marine communication/navigation or similar systems would be ideal
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities and resourcefulness.
• A passion for Product Engineering and Technical Leadership
• Entrepreneurial skills, maturity, quick thinking and quick learning abilities, high level of energy and resourcefulness, ability to travel frequently and to work with multi-ethnic teams
• Very strong communication and presentation skills.
• Strong multi-tasking, coordination and project management abilities
• Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of Asian languages would be advantageous.
