The Client

Our client is a large engineering group with interests in several manufacturing sectors. One of its group companies is a very large manufacturer of Refrigerators and Air Conditioners in China. It specializes in design, development and manufacturing of a complete range of refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioners and wine coolers; employs several thousand people; and has a 250-man R&D and Engineering team in China. It invests heavily in product development to help create branded high-quality cost-effective products for both Chinese and global markets.

For its Refrigeration product line, our client is interested in recruiting 3 senior product development professionals as :

Responsibilities:

Selected candidates will lead qualified and experienced R&D engineers in Electrical, Mechanical and Refrigeration teams to develop world-class products for home and commercial sectors. They will be responsible for overall leadership - at project/program level - over the full product development lifecycle for specific product lines, including project planning, management and delivery. Key focus areas will be introduction of latest refrigeration technologies, improvement of insulation properties, selection of new materials, and reduction of power consumption.

They will evaluate and introduce new technologies, work closely with vendors and material suppliers for new product development, and carry out competitor evaluation. As key technical resource, they will motivate and mentor the team members, guide them on design methodologies, and troubleshoot technical issues.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be experienced (at least 7 yrs of relevant experience) technical leaders with strong product development background.
• A graduate/post graduate degree in Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical or Refrigeration/HVAC from a premier institute.
• Strong experience in Project/Program Management during different phases of full product development lifecycle covering Architecture, Design, Development, Acceptance and Release to manufacturing.
• Broad exposure to product design. Prior experience in Refrigeration product development including Electrical/Mechanical/Insulation design preferred.
• Familiarity with Quality Systems, Industrial Engineering, Product Transfer, Value Engineering in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge in local and international products standard and application process for Refrigeration products
• Hands-on experience in using CAE/CAD tools
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities and resourcefulness.
• A passion for Product Engineering and Technical Leadership
• Strong communication and presentation skills. Fluency in English and Mandarin
• Strong multi-tasking, coordination and project management abilities
