SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – Tankages/Pipelines

Our client is part of a multi-billion dollar engineering conglomerate that undertakes large EPC projects in Infrastructure, Oil and Gas, Pipelines, Process Plant Engineering, Thermal Power, Civil Construction and related sectors. For one of its ventures in Saudi Arabia, our client is interested in bringing on board a team of high caliber professionals to lead and manage several large EPC projects, especially in tankages and pipelines sectors:

Responsibilities

• The selected candidate will lead and project manage multiple large (more than USD 100 million value) EPC projects focusing on Tank Farms, Tankages or Terminals for Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals sector. He will :
• Study the build strategy/client specification and prepare Master Project Plan for the project.
• Participate in Build Strategy preparation at the initial stage and also during the course of Project. Will be able to manage large teams and motivate them to achieve targets.
• Must lead all the ancillary functions i.e HSE, Planning, Controls, Procurements, Engineering, cost control etc.
• Ensures compliance with all corporate commercial practices and standards. Custodian of sound project management practices & procedures.
• Senior focal point for all customer contact including all customer requests, queries & concerns throughout contract life
• Ensure Project milestones and commercial controls are achieved by effective planning including logistics and execution.
• Coordinate with various parties involved in project in such a way that the overall risk is minimized/eliminated.
• Determine and implement the exact needs of the Client as per Contract & Specification. Leads project team through a regular system of contract reviews to identify & manage risks, monitor operational performance against the agreed timescales, and instigates corrective action where appropriate.
• Identify risks at an early stage in the project thus avoiding delays in schedule. Periodic Project Reporting to Senior Management and Client.
• Ensure proper documentation processes and maintenance. Plan and implement continual improvement in safety, quality and productivity.
• Train and mentor subordinates in the tasks of Project Management.

Requirements

• B.E/B. Tech from a reputed institution with at least 15 years of relevant project management experience in Tankages, Terminals and Oil & Gas/Petrochemical industries.
• A professional manager with international project management experience, preferably in the delivery of engineering services (oil & gas services or utilities management sectors) in a strong commercial environment.
• Fully conversant with modern project management techniques, business and software systems.
• A champion of customer care, committed to maintaining the highest standards of service quality in all aspects of project delivery.
• A proven ability to simultaneously manage several commercial projects.
• Financially & commercially astute. Results orientated, self-driven individual.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills. Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic will be advantageous.
• Ability to work in multi-ethnic teams and to travel extensively.
