Position : Supply Chain Manager (India)

Responsibilities :
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing suppliers and supply chain strategies and for driving for technical excellence in commodity management by exploiting tools, metrics and strategies to meet specific business needs. The role would require situational analysis, strategy development and guidance in implementation for the functional disciplines of supply chain development, procurement and customer pricing. These strategies should support the individual customer’s needs and be complementary to corporate Supply Chain Management goals.
The position works under the guidance of the Regional Supply Chain Manager, and provides leadership and strategic direction to the workcells or business units in the assigned site. Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee procurement activities to source, qualify and monitor material and component suppliers, ensuring high quality, readily availability and cost-effective supplies that meet product performance specifications.
- Monitor supplier performance to assess capabilities to minimize risk and establish contingency plans with backup sources where necessary.
- Material planning, inventory and control.
- Second source development for materials/components.
- Conduct BOM analysis to ensure smooth supply chain through the production\ process especially for critical components.
- Liaise with internal departments including manufacturing, logistics, quality and program managers.
- Know and understand the corporate strategic direction.
- Analyze customer needs and develop an appropriate supply chain strategy that is in alignment with organizational goals.
- In concert with the Operations Materials Managers, educate the Business Unit’s\ factory workcells and champion implementation of the supply chain strategy.
- Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value added processes or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
- Define, develop and make effective use of cost analysis tools.
- Provide feedback to staff on cost and cost trends.
- Participate in monthly forecast cycle with Business Unit Management and Operations Management as required.
Requirements :
Ideal candidates will be experienced, mature Supply Chain professionals with at least 10 years of experience, of which at least 2-3 years should be in a managerial role with full spectrum of SCM functions - from procurement to delivery.
They should have a proven track record of leading big teams and running Supply Chain function in a large organization; and have excellent knowledge of and experience in developing and managing complex SCM processes.
- Masters/Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Materials/Logistics Management, or related discipline
- A strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and materials management is required, as well as a proven track record in negotiation and cost reduction activities.
- High level of awareness of local electronic and mechanical capabilities for both international and indigenous suppliers.
- Strong presentation, communication, negotiation and leadership skills
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
